The Boulders Coastal Park, which forms part of the Table Mountain National Park, is one of the few sites where the vulnerable African Penguin can be observed at close range.

 

The African penguin colony remains the prime attraction for guests. The penguins are plentiful and have adapted to a co-existence with humans thus enabling you to observe them in their natural environment. The penguins can also be found walking around the lodge and restaurant.

Each room has complimentary sherry, Amarula and Lindt chocolates on the pillows to soothe and relax you after a long day chilling on the beach.

 

Each of the 9 Courtyard en-suite rooms comprises a blend of unique character, rustic flair and finishes with a touch of opulence, offering tea and coffee facilities as well as other guest amenities.

 

There are 3 Upper Deck suites providing extended guest amenities, and sea views from the deck.

 

2 Family Suites each consist of two bedrooms (one double and one twin room), a family bathroom, an open plan lounge area and fully fitted and equipped kitchenette, ideal for travelling families providing a simple yet refreshing atmosphere.

 

Restaurant:

 

The front deck can be closed with plastic shutters with windows, ensuring comfortable dining in any weather, while keeping the view. There are heaters for comfort during winter.

 

The restaurant has grown to be recognised as one of the top restaurants in the area. Offering Pacific Rim Cuisine, the entire menu is revised every three months. A few subtle changes are made and invariably a number of new dishes are introduced, which portray passion perfectly through flavour and presentation. Complementing the menu are various specials that change on a daily basis, an extensive wine selection chosen by a sophisticated palate and an earthly comfort that won't ever be ignored.

 

The restaurant offers a unique and different eating experience where the environment is sincere and hospitable with a touch of old world charm. A mellow and minimalist decor makes for a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant where only the finest food with the freshest produce is served. The interior of the restaurant is warm and vibrant. The sea view is best enjoyed from the outdoor terrace which seats 56 people and the rustic charm is best appreciated indoors which seats 42 people. The deck can get very busy during season and weekends. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Being home to the African Penguin, penguin paraphernalia can be bought at the curio shop. Capturing the essence of these inquisitive birds, with their quirky character, the curio shop specialises in all products penguin related from clothes to curios, pottery to pictures, plush penguins and postcards, hand painted fabric goods and mementos. Local crafters with in depth knowledge of their feathered friends have created handmade products in a cottage industry environment using their skills and talents to illustrate the spirit of these unique birds.
