The Lodge embodies grace and elegance, yet exudes unsurpassed warmth and hospitality. Guests can step into the relaxed ambience of the lodge with its lush indigenous garden dappled in shade, lounges with internet facilities, bar, huge sparkling pool and thatched dining areas punctuated with original South African art.

 

The three main lounges are stylishly decorated in leathers, silks and stone and provide the perfect environment in which to relax and enjoy the bush, and the lovely soft leather chairs reflect the warm colonial style throughout the lodge.

 

Enjoy the warm energy of the Lodge in the outside lounge with a view of the watering hole whilst playing a game of chess, or retreat with a book from the comprehensive library in the warm atmosphere of the drawing room.

 

The gentleman's lounge, with its masculine decor, has a large TV at the bar, dual facing fireplace, richly woven Persian carpets and soft leather couches to enjoy a drink or unwind after an exhilarating game drive.

 

Delicious breakfasts and lunches featuring fresh Pan African flavours are served in the main building or on the deck. Dinner is a sumptuous candlelit affair in various enchanting settings in the lodge The cuisine is a celebration of senses - a feat of innovative flavours overseen by the award winning Head Chef.

 

Boma dinners under the African sky are often ended by traditional dancing - a tribute from the staff to guest. Staff are dedicated to ensuring an unsurpassed experience for guests and by prior arrangement prepare a romantic dinner just for two or a surprise breakfast in the middle of the bush.

 

Activities:

 

Traversing over 9000 hectares of supreme African bushveld, the lodge is home to the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and Elephant) as well as a wealth of other creatures. Open vehicle game drives are perfect for game viewing. Enjoy a sundowner while the sun sets over the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains.

 

The magnificent game viewing makes for perfect photographic opportunities; enjoy the view of the Lowveld from a "kopje" amid the lush vegetation, huge variety of trees and over 365 bird species. Game drives are conducted with qualified game rangers and Shangaan trackers - who will share their vast experience of the African Bush and a chance to view Cheetah on foot.

Surrounded by the beautiful and lush indigenous garden, the twenty four intimate air-conditioned en-suite rooms at the lodge feature rich, earthly tones and aromatic timber. The huge romantic beds fitted with crisp white linen are swathed in flowing mosquito nets under the canopy of a thatch roof.

 

The rich African toned bathrooms have glass enclosed revitalizing showers with double wash basins. Suites are fully equipped with mini bar fridges, tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries, hair dryers and personal safes.

 

Take pleasure in the prolific bird activities and animals that visit the garden from your veranda whilst sipping a cocktail.

 

The Royal Suite:

 

The Royal Suite, which exudes unsurpassed luxury and elegance, lies tucked away a short distance from the main lodge. The interior of the suite with its king size bed, lounge and heavy wooden furniture reflects a grand colonial ambiance.

 

The en-suite bathroom includes a bath as well as a large glass shower enclosure which leads to an outdoor shower on the deck.

 

Guests can enjoy the wildlife exploring the surrounding lush vegetation from their own private game viewing deck. Cool down in the plunge pool or simply relax on the deck enjoying the sound of the bush whilst reading a book.

 

The suite features tea and coffee making facilities, a mini bar fridge and safe tucked away in the cupboard.

 

Conferencing:

 

The conference centre is the perfect venue for leaving the constraints of the office behind.

 

Catering for up to 40 delegates, this facility provides notebooks, internet facilities, sweets, water and cordials. Brain storming, strategic sessions and team building against the backdrop of the bush makes this a perfect choice for creative thinking. Packages can be tailor made to suit specific requirements and can include activities such as bushwalks, animal tracking on safari game drives and so on.

Rates include three meals per day (full breakfast, light lunch and dinner), 2 game drives daily in safari vehicles accompanied by an experienced Ranger and tracker, complimentary sundowner drink on Night Drive.

 

Rates exclude airport transfers, conservation levy (R40 payable on entry), telephone calls, curio shop purchases, all beverages, mini bar, other incidental expenses.

 

Children welcome. Children under 2 years sharing with adults are free of charge. 2 - 12 years of age sharing with adults pay 50% of the accommodation rate. Children over 12 years of age are considered full paying adults. Children under 6 are not permitted on game drives.
