As part of the 7000-hectare Amakhala Game Reserve, this lodge provides a rich, informative luxury safari experience for adults and children alike. The children safari offering includes a varied and supervised activity programme.
Sleeping a maximum of 12 adults, the lodge may be booked exclusively as a private venue for small team-building and wedding functions. This is also a wonderful small conference venue for Eastern Cape businesses.

This intimate lodge re-defines exclusivity with four individually styled double / twin suites designed to capture the spirit of a bygone ear, while providing the luxuries of contemporary lodge living.
In addition, there are two luxurious 2-bedroom suites to better cater for families and friends travelling together.
Ranged along the curve of a hill, each room has its own viewing deck, welcoming lounge and fireplace, and sumptuous bathroom with spa bath and a choice of inside or open-air showers.
With its complementary decanter of sherry, selection of classic reads available in each room, and superior linen and beds, each suite is designed to create a private haven from which to enjoy the quiet beauty of the surrounding bush.

Amenities:
· The main lodge comprises of an entrance rondavel, leading to a spacious dining area allowing for both intimate and group dining, and a large lounge and library area leading onto a bar.
· Double-sided fireplaces are always a place of contemplation in winter, while the shady veranda overlooking the waterhole and the refreshing pool keep guests cool and entertained during summer.
· For younger guests, there is a private lounge offering television, DVD player, games and books.
· The central lodge is surrounded on all sides by shady veranda’s offering guests a variety of views out over the tranquil landscape, as well as over the swimming pool and pool deck.
· A separate area known as a “boma” adjoins the main lodge where bush braai’s and special festivities are offered for guests enjoyments.
· A small chapel is available in the Amakhala for weddings and other religious ceremonies. This should be booked in advance.
· A computer with email facilities can be made available should you require.
· Dress code is informal. Loose fitting and light garments in summer, and layering clothing in winter is suggested.
· Please advise of any specific dietary requirements you may have before arrival.
· Coffee, tea, fresh juice and pastries are served before each game drive in addition to any snacks provide on the drive itself.
· Suites are cleaned unobtrusively thrice daily while guests enjoy a game drive or meal. At no other time will guests be disturbed unless they request assistance. Staff is always available to assist wherever necessary.
· Guests personal items can be washed and ironed at a nominal fee. Dry cleaning is unfortunately not available.
· A well stocked supply of over the counter medication is available to guests should they experience any physical discomfort during their stay. Medical practitioners are also available 20 minutes drive away.
· Complimentary bottled water is provided.
· Telephones are installed in each guest suite.
· A versatile and well appointed selection of South African and International wines, sparkling wines and French champagne is offered

Fine Dining:
Mealtimes are an occasion in themselves. A blend of traditional African and Contemporary cuisines is on offer and produced at the highest quality and standards. Only the freshest ingredients are used. Each meal is a real celebration of what the region has to offer.
Special dietary requirements are catered for. Please advise at the time of booking in order to make the necessary preparations.
Private dinners are served either next to the fireplace or on the veranda of your suite. Beautiful, indulgent evenings are offered, including sparkling wine, flowers, and lots of candles in the suite making this the ideal getaway for a romantic celebration.
